FAQs About Tours and Hotels in Guanajuato

Q: What are the most popular tours in Guanajuato?

A: By far it is the walking tours – but I loved the tour to Dolores Hildago! I’m a sucker for Pueblo Magicos.

Q: When is the best time to go to GTO?

A: Anytime haha, but for me, my favorite time is during Cervantino and Dia de Muertos but the drawback is there are huge crowds.

Q: Where are the best areas to stay in Guanajuato?

A: Unlike a lot of places – there really aren’t any bad places in GTO. There are places around the Panaramico that are the most challenging to walk to but everywhere is safe. Near the Centro or Jardin is an idea but more costly. Try a little outside Centro Historic in a neighborhood like Barrio de San Juan and many others and it’s safe and be more immersed with the locals. I stayed close to the baseball stadium last time, took in a game, and it was incredible.

Q: How far in advance should I book a hotel?

A: If you are going during Dia de Muertos you will need to book several months in advance since they fill up fast and the prices go up during the months of Oct-Nov.
